Kerry G. Noel, 70, of Little Lake, died Saturday afternoon, June 26, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital following a short illness.
He was born on February 5, 1940 in Marquette, a son of the late George and Olive (Yelle) Noel and was a lifelong Marquette County resident. He was a 1959 graduate of Gwinn High School.
Kerry married his high school sweetheart, the former Norma J. Larson on October 28, 1960 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette. They had started dating when they were 15 years old.
Kerry retired in 1997 from the Empire Mine where he had worked since October of 1966.
In his free time, Kerry loved to travel all over the United States and also took great pride in building the family camp in Baraga County. He enjoyed having a cup of coffee on his front porch where neighbors often stopped by to join him for a visit. He had a strong faith in God and was actively involved in bible study on a daily basis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma, of Little Lake, two sons, Calvin (Laurie) Noel of Bellevue, IA and Rick Noel of Eden, WI; one granddaughter, Sidney Paige Noel; an aunt, Esther Yelle of Sands Township; also several nieces and nephews.
At Kerry’s request there will be no visitation or service.
