Sandra Jean (TenEyck) Potter, 69, of Canandaigua, New York, formerly of Marquette and Gwinn, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at her residence with her loving family at her side after a long illness.

Sandy was born on June 9, 1941 in Marquette, a daughter of George and Agnes (Swanson) TenEyck and attended John D. Pierce School.

She was a talented artist and seamstress. Sandy and her husband owned a painting and decorating business in New York.

Survivors include her husband, Leslie Potter of Canandaigua, NY; one daughter, Debra (Bruce) Horrocks Slobodnik of New Swanzy; four grandchildren, Nicolette (Damian) Perkins of New Jersey, Samantha (Andrew) Barabe of Gwinn, Orion Slobodnik of Gwinn and Brandon Potter of New York; two great grandchildren, Erik Perkins and Aiden Barabe; her mother, Agnes M. TenEyck of Big Bay; five siblings, George (Margie) TenEyck of California, Patricia (David) Harrold of New York, Marzy (Jerry) Fraley of Big Bay, Jeff (Linda) TenEyck of South Carolina, and Peter TenEyck of Big Bay; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, George TenEyck and a brother, Larry TenEyck.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 17th at 12:00 noon in the Powell Township Cemetery with Jeff TenEyck presiding.

A luncheon will immediately follow at the TenEyck cottage on Squaw Beach Road in Big Bay.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider a charity of the donor's choice in Sandy's memory.
